Swimming at Headfirst Summer Camps

Headfirst Summer Camps are proud to offer instructional swim, recreational swim, and water play at our 6 sites in Washington, D.C., Bethesda, MD, and Oakton, VA. If you're looking for swimming fun for your camper, look no further!

Instructional Swim includes goals that are kid-specific, from jumping into the deep end to side breathing. Your child will be carefully supervised at all times, with a 3:1 child-to-staff ratio in the pool. Swim reports will be sent home to parents at all sites except for Bethesda II (The Woods Academy), so you can track your camper's progress!

Recreational Swim is an opportunity to engage in safe and supervised free-swim and pool-based games. Campers will be assessed for use of permitted areas of the pool.

Water Play is a fun way for campers to cool off in the middle of the day, often including inflatable obstacle courses that spray water and have a shallow pool at the end. The water play activity will always be an active way for campers to cool down from the summer heat.
